Twisted Society was born out of a desire to sprinkle some excitement over London’s increasingly staid nightlife. The brainchild of two music and club fanatics who have been a fixture in the capitals clubs for years; the more they partied, the more they heard people bemoan the lack of imagination that went in to putting on club nights. Determined to make a difference and create a party that tantalised every one of the senses, Twisted Society is a clubbing experience that puts the people first.
Everything from the headline DJ’s to the fully stocked bar is chosen to provide London’s night owls with the ultimate after dark experience. Disco balls descend from the vaulted ceiling, stylish artwork adorns the walls and dancers in cages fill Village Underground, one of east London’s trendiest clubs, to provide a hungry audience with the glamour and excitement that they have been craving. Central to the event is the music, which is provided by 3 headline DJs and a roster of residents. Playing the very finest in deep house and techno, musically inclined clubbers arrive in daylight and party in to the darkness.
Our debut event brought names from some of the world’s hottest labels together under one roof. Alex Picone of Cadenza Records, Clive Henry from Crosstown Rebels and Circo Loco; plus Cecille’s Alex Celler delivered hours of cutting-edge sounds to a feverish crowd. For people to enjoy the music, the other elements of our night have to be just right. The fully-stocked and well-manned bar are essential elements in creating our idyllic Twisted Society, since no one wants to spend the majority of their evening in a queue. For our clubbers, drinking and dancing go hand in hand so we want them to be able to enjoy both with ease.
As a brand, Twisted Society aims to provide the people that come to our events with excitement and value for money. For our next party, Cadenza’s Frivolous is going to be playing a live setup following his sell-out show at fabric earlier this year. He incorporates his own hand-made instruments in to his show and there is a great level of interest in the way he pushes the boundaries of what is expected from a DJ. We will be conducting a video interview with Frivolous ahead of his show for us, in one of the two old London underground train carriages that sit atop of Village Underground. We expect that there will be a frenzied response to this interview so, as well as being posted on all Twisted Society social media outlets, it may well be posted on Cadenza’s website and the Resident Advisor feed too.
Our dedication to providing our patrons with a clubbing experience, not just a night out, begins way before they enter the door. The detailed event descriptions and interesting flyer artwork provide the air of mystery that we aim to evoke, and with the interviews that we are now conducting and the top photographer that we employ at our events, Twisted Society has quickly become a recognised club force to be reckoned with.
